IN-PERSON WORSHIP SERVICES
Do I need to sign up to attend a service?
We will be implementing a reservation system throughout the period of time whereby we are only occupying a percentage of our capacity. You will be asked to fill out a form that will live on our website. Once we start gathering reservations, the Koinonia staff will begin the manual process of assigning household units to pews, maximizing space where possible and safe. At the time of reservation, we will ask each reservation request to yield the following information:
Full name
Number of people in party
Names of all in party
Age-ranges of each member in party (Kids Ministry may elect to leave age-appropriate kid kits (extended kids bulletin, wicky sticks, and fruit snacks) in each child’s seat
Contact phone number
List any restrictions or special requests (e.g., unable to climb stairs, wheelchair access, etc.)
Number of people in party who will take communion
What times will the services be?
Service times are 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Can I sit with my family?
Yes, you will be able to sit with your family. You will need to list your entire family when you register for a service.

You will be given an assigned seat after you have filled out a registration form. The Friday before the service, you will receive an email alerting you of your seat for the service on Sunday.
Will I need to wear a face covering?
All worship service attendees will be asked to bring a face covering and use it while entering the building on their way to their seat, while singing and participating in spoken liturgy, and while leaving their seat exiting the building.
Will there be communion?
A modified communion procedure will be put into place. At the time of reservation, it will be noted how many communion participants will be in each household/party. Pre-wrapped (at the manufacturer) bread/juice cups will be placed in each zone according to the response at the time of reservation. The pre-wrapped bread/juice cups will be placed in each zone by gloved/face-covered staff member before each service. Congregants will be asked to hold on to their used cups and discard them in a trash receptacle when exiting.

Will there be a separate room for parents with kids?
Yes. We have a nursery room which will provide ample space to accommodate parents who have young kids that become restless during the sermon and might wish to step out. The space is near the sanctuary allowing easy accessibility at a moment’s notice. Posted on the door of the room is the maximum number of people permitted.
How will the church be cleaned during and after services?
At the conclusion of each service once the majority of people have left the area, the tops of every pew will be wiped down by a gloved/face-covered staff member as well as seating and tables.
How will the restrooms be cleaned?
Restrooms will be operated at half-capacity, that is, total number of urinals, stalls, and sinks divided by two. A staff member/volunteer will be at each restroom entryway to monitor the total number of people in the restroom at once so as not to allow a number of people entering the restroom that is greater than recommended capacity. Markings 6 feet apart will be placed at restroom entryways in the event a line forms to help with recommended social distance. In between services, approximately 20 minutes after the first service has ended (where applicable).
Is hand sanitizer available?Contactless hand sanitizer receptacles will be available at all of the entrances/exits and at various places throughout the church building.
Will there be coffee/tea/food?
At this time, we will not be offering coffee/tea or food to avoid many people touching the same surfaces.
Will I have to open doors to get into the building?
Weather permitting, all entry/exit points will be propped open so people may enter and exit without touching door handles. If this is not feasible staff members wearing gloves and face coverings will be assigned to open doors as people approach the door and hold the door open for them while maintaining a safe distance. The staff member will only touch the doors while gloved.
What happens if someone tests positive for COVID-19 who attended a worship service?

The highest levels of privacy will be maintained; no individual names of any who disclose to the church office a positive COVID-19 test result will be publicized or made known to the rest of the church. Every person sitting within two zones of the infected attendee will be notified, and potentially asked to not return to for 14 days, or until a negative test result is confirmed. Koinonia may also elect to notify all attendees of the particular service that someone who attended their service tested positive (identity will remain anonymous).
